Do You Know a Place Where Coffee Tastes like Thunder?

Two Cultures. One Story. One Cup.

Raad Cafe was born from a shared dream — to bring together the richness of Iraqi and Afghan heritage through a love for coffee, culture and hospitality.

In our traditions, sharing a cup of coffee or tea has always been more than a simple gesture. It is an invitation to gather, to connect and to create memories that last long after the final sip.

Inspired by the flavours, warmth and traditions that shaped us, we envisioned a space where our heritage meets contemporary cafe culture. A place where the familiar feels extraordinary and every cup carries a little piece of our story.

A Name That Echoes Through Generations.

In Arabic, رعد (Raad) means thunder. A word that embodies strength, presence and a spirit impossible to ignore.

Yet behind this powerful name lies something far more personal. Raad is a name carried through generations of our lineage, honouring a beloved grandfather, Raad Al-Mousa, whose name remains an enduring part of our family history.

What was once a name passed down through generations has now found a new meaning — becoming the foundation of a dream that honours the past while embracing the future.

More Than a Cafe. A Place to Belong.

Raad was created to be more than a destination for exceptional coffee. It is a celebration of heritage, connection and the simple beauty of bringing people together. From the richness of Iraqi traditions to the warmth of Afghan hospitality, every detail reflects the cultures we proudly carry with us.

Whether you’re discovering a new flavour, sharing a conversation with someone special or finding a quiet moment in your day, we hope every visit feels like coming home.

Because at Raad, we believe the best moments aren’t just found in what we drink, but in the moments we create around it.
